Ania Buzala(b.1993), contemporary abstract artist from Poland, based in Nazaré, Portugal. She studied Design at the University of Fine Arts in Poznań, where she began exploring abstract painting. Moving to Nazaré in 2021 gave her the clarity and space she needed to fully immerse herself in her artistic practice. Living by the ocean, away from the rush, allowed her to slow down and reconnect with her creative purpose.

about my process
My process is a balance between instinct and intention. There are fully intuitive phases where I let go completely, painting with raw energy and emotion. Then, I step back, observe, and refine. This back-and-forth between chaos and control continues until I achieve visual and emotional balance of each piece.
I primarily work with acrylic paint, complemented by natural pigments, charcoal, oil pastels, and other media that adds depth and texture. I paint not only with brushes but also with my hands and found objects that leave unique marks on the canvas.
about my intention
Abstract art, for me, is both liberating and challenging. It pushes me beyond my comfort zone, urging me to connect with my true self and express raw, unfiltered emotions. I believe in its therapeutic quality —both in creating and experiencing it. It is a space where vulnerability meets strength and where emotions find their voice.
Ultimately, I want my art to transcend my own experiences and invite the viewer to connect with their own emotions, memories, and interpretations.
